Turks and Caicos Nightlife

“…I love the nightlife.  I’ve got to boogie. On the disco’ round, oh yeah.” – Alicia Bridges.

Many visitors enjoy the nightlife in Turks & Caicos Islands, but unlike the lyrics from Alicia Bridges’ song, there is little evening entertainment in the way of discos and dancing.

Instead, the Turks & Caicos nightlife consists of a quiet evening entertainment scene.  But quiet does not mean boring!  Here are five things you can do during an evening out while on a Turks and Caicos vacation.

Enjoy live entertainment

“Food is music to the body, music is food to the heart” – Gregory David Roberts.

Nourish your body and heart when you dine at Turks and Caicos restaurants.  The new hot spot to do so is at Fire and Ice, the up-market Caribbean restaurant located at Blue Haven Marina and Resort.  Here you can enjoy Cuban night every Wednesday, complete with traditional music and fare.  After your meal, stroll over to Salt, the waterfront bar that offers “Blue Your Mind” entertainment every Friday evening, as well as special events such as a Valentine’s “Red” party on February 14, and a St. Patrick’s Day party on March 17.  End your evening visit by relaxing at one of the outdoor fire pits on the pier, and then take the complimentary shuttle back to Alexandra Resort.

Another fun way to enjoy live entertainment is to be part of it!  Every Wednesday night, from 6pm until 8pm, the Alexandra Resort hosts a fun-filled karaoke event on the reception centre’s deck.  There are prizes for the best performers, so join the fun!

Take a glowworm cruise

Glowworm cruises are offered on the Atabeyra about three and four days after the full moon. Shortly after the sun sets, you will be treated to a spectacular display of fluorescent glow worms performing in the water.  It’s a great way to spend some time on the water and enjoy a unique experience.  For more information visit www.suncharters.tc.

Visit the Fish Fry

Every Thursday night, a traditional fish fry is hosted at the Bight (Children’s) Park, next to the Gansevoort Resort.  From 5:30pm until 9:30pm, you can feast on local food from over a dozen vendors.  Dance to live music performed by local bands, buy local crafts and meet island residents at the fish fry.

Indulge in Room Service and a Movie

While fabulous culinary experiences should not to be missed on a Turks and Caicos vacation, occasionally a busy day in the sun leaves guests feeling too tired for a night out.  You can still have a pleasant evening by ordering room service from Mango Reef and borrowing a complimentary DVD from the Alexandra Resort’s reception centre.  Every suite at the Alexandra Resort has an expansive deck, so you can enjoy your meal in the privacy of your suite while admiring a starry sky above, and then relaxing with a good movie and an early night.

Or, venture down to the resort’s waterfront and enjoy barefoot dining on the beach with Mango Reef.  Good food and the ocean as a backdrop will make for a wonderfully romantic evening.

Test your luck at the casino

The Casablanca Casino offers table gaming and slot machines.  While the casino is intimate, you can still win big if luck is on your side when you visit! If you are successful at the tables, why not treat yourself to dinner at one of the top restaurants on Providenciales – Beach House Restaurant, located at Beach House Resort.  An interactive dining experience paired with fresh and contemporary menus await you.  A complimentary shuttle is available from the Alexandra Resort.
