Summer is a perfect time for a Turks and Caicos family vacation. With the worst of winter behind you and the quality family time you enjoyed over the holidays a distant memory, our sun-drenched Caribbean island provides a welcome respite from the cold and a chance to enjoy some fun adventures with your children.
Turks and Caicos offers great adventures for children of all ages. Here are some cool activities that your family can do during a summer vacation on Providenciales.
See turtles, brilliantly colored fish, sharks and even a mermaid on a semi-submarine trip with the Undersea Explorer. Trips last 45 minutes and depart from Turtle Cove Marina.
If you prefer to remain above the surface of the water but your children still want to see some amazing sea life, take a trip with Reef Peepers on their glass bottom boat.
Tweens love the adventure of skimming across our turquoise waters on a banana boat ride. The more adventurous also enjoy seeing the island from the air on a parasailing trip. Both activities are offered by Captain Marvin’s.
Caicos Dream Tours offers half-day snorkeling excursions to nearby cays that are ideally suited to young snorkelers. Enjoy the convenience of departing directly from Alexandra Resort and booking your trip with their on-site excursions desk.
Eco-adventures with Big Blue Unlimited are popular with teenage visitors. Choose from scuba diving, kayaking through the mangroves, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and more. Big Blue excursions depart from the Marina at our sister resort, Blue Haven Resort . Learn more about Big Blue activities at www.bigblueunlimited.com.
For the Entire Family
If you are on Providenciales a few days after the full month, don’t miss the glow worm cruise with the Atabeyra. This cruise is only offered three to five nights after the full month every month, so contact them for details.
For added fun, take the free shuttle to our sister property, Blue Haven Resort, where the kids can jump on the water trampoline, play a game of beach volleyball or catch a movie on the beach under the starts (generally held on alternate Saturday nights. Ask a Guest Services agent for the schedule).
Back at the Alexandra Resort, families will have a blast swimming in the large free form swimming pool, playing tennis, exploring the island on our complimentary pedal bikes, or trying our their skills with our complimentary non motorized water sports equipment. After working up an appetite, families can enjoy a relaxed meal at Asu on the Beach, or prepare their own meal in the fully equipped kitchens featured in our one and two bedroom suites.
