The annual Turks and Caicos “Race for the Conch” Eco-SeaSwim will be hosted on July 5 in Grace Bay.

The open water swimming competition features three races: the 2.4 mile iron man race, the one mile race and a new half mile race.  For young swimmers, a 100 meter children’s race is also hosted.

Top international swimmers and those new to the sport are equally welcome to participate in what has been described as “one of the world’s most gorgeous swim races.”

The swim will support the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund environmental initiatives and the Turks & Caicos Islands Swim Federation.

Two other exciting events on the water will also take place the same week.

On Wednesday, July 2, professional marathon swimmer Yuko Matsuzaki will attempt what no one has yet done; swim the Caicos Cays from North Caicos to Providenciales. Called Swim Marathon Turks & Caicos, Ms Matsuzaki?s aquatic adventure journey of 21 kilometres (13 miles) will take her along the third largest barrier reef in the world past a string of tiny, mostly uninhabited islands to Grace Bay.

On July 6, Windvibes, the annual kite boarding festival, will be hosted on Long Bay Beach, Providenciales.  Blue Haven Resort and Marina, a sister resort to the Alexandra Resort, is the official hotel sponsor for Windvibes.

If you are planning to attend any of these events, why not stay at the Alexandra Resort.  View our special summer rates here.
